Amatørpiloten, der udstillede Sovjetunionen, fylder 50

(ARKIV) A 19-year-old West German private pilot Mathias Rust is seen the last day of his trial, 04 September 1987 in a Moscow's court. Mathias Rust flew the Cessna 172 aircraft 28 May 1987 through the Soviet Union's air defences from Helsinki to Moscow, before swooping over the Kremlin, the Lenin's Mausoleum and St. Basil's Cathedral and putting the aircraft down on the upward slope near the Kremlin Wall on the Red Square. Rust got out of the cockpit and signed autographs for an amused and amazed crowd of Russian before being arrested by the police. 04 September 1987, he was sentenced to four years in a labour camp for violating Soviet airspace.
